The sign-up page is part of your public page, so an owner or admin has to put your website live first. While it is a draft, the link does not open for anyone. After posting a shift, an owner or admin can press Open sign-ups to put the page live.

After you press Post shift, Ember shows Share the sign-up link.
Press Copy
Or press Open sign-up page to see it as a visitor would, once your website is live.
Share it where your volunteers are
Email, social media, a flyer. Anyone with the link can see your open shifts.
Put it on paper
Three buttons sit under the link after you post a shift, and in Web under Your website. They appear only once your page is live, so you never print a code for a page nobody can open yet.
- Show QR code puts a code on screen. People scan it with a phone camera to open your sign-up page.
- Download saves the code as an image, ready for a bulletin, a newsletter or a slide.
- Print a flyer opens a one-page sign with your organization's name, the code, and the link written out for anyone without a camera.
What visitors see
- What we do: programs with figures or goals you chose to show, and programs with upcoming shifts.
- Upcoming shifts: visitors press See upcoming shifts to list each one's date, headline, start and end time, where and spots left, with a Sign up button.
- A short form: first name and email, with last name and phone optional. It never asks for a date of birth or guardian details.
After someone signs up
- They are on the shift, and you can see them by name on it.
- They join your volunteer list, marked Invited, once you mark them at the shift, move them up, or confirm them into a role.
- Ember emails them a confirmation with the date, start and end time, and where, if you set it. They can reply to that email to reach you.
- A full shift offers its waitlist, unless you turned the waitlist off, in which case it shows Full.
Choose which programs take sign-ups
Each program has a Public sign-ups switch, under Edit program, then Volunteers. It is on unless you turn it off. When it is off, that program's shifts are not on your public page. The switch shows only while the program's Uses volunteers switch is on. With that off, the program's shifts and roles are not on your public page either.
