Before you start
The sign-up page is part of your public page, so an owner or admin has to put your website live first. While it is a draft, the link does not open for visitors.
Share the link
Post a shift
After you press Post shift, Ember shows Share the sign-up link.
Press Copy
Or press Open sign-up page to see it as a visitor would, once your website is live.
Share it where your volunteers are
Email, social media, a flyer. Anyone with the link can see your open shifts.
What visitors see
- What we do: programs with figures or goals you chose to show, and programs with upcoming shifts.
- Upcoming shifts: visitors press See upcoming shifts to list each one's date, start time and spots left, with a Sign up button.
- A short form: first name and email, with last name and phone optional. It never asks for a date of birth or guardian details.
After someone signs up
- They are on the shift, and you can see them by name on it.
- They join your volunteer list, marked Invited, once you mark them at the shift, move them up, or confirm them into a role.
- Ember does not email them a confirmation yet, though the page tells them to expect one. Send them the details soon.
- A full shift offers its waitlist if you turned one on, or shows Full.
Choose which programs take sign-ups
Each program has a Public sign-ups switch, under Edit program, then Volunteers. It is on unless you turn it off. When it is off, that program's shifts are not on your public page.
