Only owners and admins add programs and goals. Every organization already has two programs, Administration and Fundraising, for the work behind the scenes. They never show on your public page.
Add a program
Open Programs and press Add a program
The button is at the top right.
Name it and describe it
One plain line, enough that a funder or new volunteer gets it.
Choose what kind of work it is
Serving people directly, making or supplying something, campaigning or organizing, or funding other organizations.
Pick what you track
Ember suggests units for that kind of work, such as people. Tick the ones you count, or add your own.
Choose an icon and color, then press Add program
The program opens so you can set its first goal.

Press Set a goal
On a program with no goals, the row also says Set the first goal.
Say what the goal is, and pick its kind
A number to reach from your counts, an amount to raise in dollars, or a milestone to hit.
Fill in the details
A number goal needs a measure, a target and a time frame, such as this quarter. An amount to raise needs a target and where the money comes from. A milestone can have action items, which become tasks in Work.
Press Save goal
A program's first goal becomes its primary goal. Press the star on another goal to make that one primary instead.
How Ember shows progress

| On track | At 90% or more of where you should be by now. |
| A little behind | At 75% or more. |
| Behind | Below that. |
| Beat it | Reached or passed the target. |
| Nothing counted yet | No counts yet in this goal's time frame, so Ember does not judge its pace. |
| New | Less than a week old. Status tracking starts after that. |
"This year" means your fiscal year.
