Send visitors to a website you already have

If your organization has its own website, your Ember page can forward visitors to it instead of showing the Ember page.

Set it up

Open Web
Choose Web in the sidebar. If it is not there, turn it on in your apps.
Find Got your own website?
It is on the Website tab.
Type your site's address
Put it in Redirect to your website, starting with https://, for example https://www.yourorg.org.
Click away from the field
You see "Saved." While your page is live, anyone visiting your Ember link goes straight to your site.

It only forwards while your page is live. A draft forwards no one.
Everything on the Ember page is skipped, including the volunteer sign-up, Get updates and Get in touch.
Forwarded visits are not counted in Visits.
Search engines treat it as a permanent move to your own site.
While it is on, Preview forwards too. To see the Ember page, clear the redirect for a moment. Switching to Draft also works, but takes your page offline.

Clear the Redirect to your website field and click away. When you see "Saved.", your Ember page shows again.

My redirect address won't save.

The address must start with https:// or http://. Fix the address and click away again. Other changes will not save until it is fixed.

Can I point my own domain name at the Ember page?

No. This works the other way: your Ember link forwards to the website you already have.
