The problem

The report asks for numbers nobody wrote down.

You know the work happened. Proving it means digging through sign-in sheets, texts and somebody’s memory, weeks after the fact. Usually the week the report is due.

How it works

Keep the count as you go.

1

List your programs. Most organizations have three or four, not thirty.

2

Record who you reached, in whatever way fits how you actually work.

3

Track a handful of outcomes that matter. This is not a survey platform.

4

See how many people you reached, and how many were new.

5

Send a funder the numbers and the story together.

Who it's for

Built for the person who has to prove it worked.

Usually the same person who did the work. Ember keeps the count as you go, so writing the report is not archaeology.

Built for the work you do.

From food and housing to animals, kids, health, and the environment — Ember fits every kind of nonprofit.

Questions

Good questions, honest answers.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is a real free plan — no credit card, no trial clock. If Ember saves your team real time, we ask you to contribute what your organization can afford.

Do you store personal details about the people we serve?

No. Ember counts who you reached. It is not a case management system and does not hold personal records about participants. That is deliberate. Those records carry real risk for the people in them, and you rarely need them to answer a funder.

What counts as an outcome?

Whatever your funder or your board actually asks about. You define a few measures in your own words and record progress against them. A handful you keep up with beats a long list you abandon.

How do you count people without double-counting?

You tell Ember how your program works — some count visits, some count people, some count households. It keeps both the total and the unduplicated number, because funders usually want the second one.

Do we need the other Ember apps?

No — Programs works on its own. Add Volunteers or Staff and each program also shows what it cost to deliver, not just what it achieved.

Is our data safe?

Your data is encrypted, never sold, and always yours to export. We are built privacy-first, with your donors’ trust in mind.

What does early access commit us to?

Nothing. Try it, help shape it, and leave anytime. Founding members simply get in first.
