Is Giving part of Ember?
Yes. It sits on the same login as Volunteers, Grants and every other Ember app, so your whole nonprofit shares one account, free if your budget is under $50K a year.
Does Ember collect donations?
No. Ember isn't a payment processor and never touches the money. You record each gift however it arrives, and Ember helps you thank the person who gave it. Want an easy way for supporters to give? Your public page can carry a Donate button that points wherever you already take donations.
Is it a donor CRM?
It's lighter than that: a simple way to thank and keep up with your donors, not a fundraising tool. It keeps each donor's giving history from the gifts you record, helps you thank them and flags who's gone quiet. Grant payments and earned income stay in Budget. You can bring in your giving history from a Donorbox, Givebutter or Stripe export, or any spreadsheet, and your donor list is always yours to export.
Who on our team can see our donors?
Only your owners and admins see gifts, amounts and thank-yous. Your volunteer coordinator can run Saturday's shifts in the other Ember apps without ever seeing who gave what.
Is it really free?
Yes. It's free if your budget is under $50K a year, with unlimited users and no trial clock. As your budget grows, a simple subscription scales with it, and every tier includes every app.
Do we have to be a 501(c)(3)?
No. Grassroots groups, all-volunteer teams, fiscally sponsored projects and founders still getting set up are all welcome, and you don't need any paperwork to start.
