Is it really free?
Yes. It’s free for small nonprofits, with unlimited users and no trial clock. As your budget grows, a simple subscription scales with it, and every tier includes every app. Here’s how pricing works.
Can we use just one tool, or all of them?
Either. Start with the one thing that hurts most, like Volunteers or Grants, and add the rest whenever you’re ready. Your numbers flow between them, so nothing gets entered twice.
Can we bring our data with us?
Yes. Bring your people over from any spreadsheet. You see what happens to every row before anything is saved, and you can undo the whole import for 24 hours. Gifts come in from a Donorbox, Givebutter or Stripe export, or from any spreadsheet with one gift per row. And your data is always yours to take with you.
Do we have to be a 501(c)(3)?
No. Ember is for nonprofits and the people starting them: grassroots groups, all-volunteer teams, fiscally sponsored projects, and founders still getting set up. No paperwork needed to start.
