What volunteer tools cost in 2026, vendor by vendor
Updated October 2026
Most volunteer tools make you ask for a price, or bury it. We read 17 vendors' own pages on the same night and put what they say in one place, including where they say nothing. One disclosure up front: we make Ember, listed at the end.
The cheapest paid tiers we found run from about $8 a month to $239 a month, before setup fees. Three vendors, Better Impact, Galaxy Digital and Rosterfy, work by quote, and we couldn't confirm a fourth, Track It Forward. What moves your bill differs: volunteers tracked, contacts, admins, or the number of events. Find that first, because it matters more than the starting price.

Here's the free version and the cheapest paid tier for each one. Every cell links to the vendor's own page, read on October 30, 2026. “None listed” means we didn't find one on that page, not that one can't exist.
What makes a volunteer tool's bill grow?
- Volunteers or records. Volgistics follows volunteers tracked, and Better Impact counts accepted and inactive profiles. Bloomerang calls its model constituent-based.
- Admins. VolunteerMatters and Better Impact tiers set how many staff can log in, so a growing team can move you up.
- Events. VolunteerLocal sells by the event as well as by the year, which can suit one big festival.
- Set-up fees. VolunteerHub and VolunteerMatters both charge one. Volgistics says it has no start-up costs, and Timecounts says it has no mandatory setup fee.
- Add-ons. Kiosks, text messages and portals are often extra, so price the version you'd really run.
Better Impact pricing
Better Impact doesn't publish a price. It sells three tiers, Foundation, Growth and Impact, by quote. Its FAQ says pricing counts accepted and inactive profiles, and applicants, in-process and archived profiles aren't charged. Foundation allows up to 3 admins and Growth up to 10.

Galaxy Digital (Get Connected) pricing
Galaxy Digital doesn't publish a price either. Its FAQ says each product is custom priced and that it never charges by the number of volunteers. It also mentions a free interface that connects you to a local Volunteer Center. Better Impact says it has acquired Galaxy Digital, so ask how that affects your plan.

Volgistics pricing
Volgistics is the rare tool with a public calculator. A monthly fee follows how many volunteers you track: $9 for 50, $18 for 100, $30 for 500 and $40 for 1,000. Two operators are included, and each extra one is $10 a month. The volunteer portal and the time clock each add a third of that fee, and document storage adds a sixth. It says there are no start-up costs or support charges.

Ask before you buy: Price it with the add-ons you'll really use. The portal is often the reason to buy.
Rosterfy pricing
Rosterfy doesn't publish dollar prices. Its page says pricing is shaped by your size, goals and volunteer needs, and it offers a quote form. It says it's built for groups managing 100 or more volunteers.

Ask before you buy: If you have fewer than 100 volunteers, ask whether it fits before you spend time on a quote.
VolunteerHub pricing
VolunteerHub publishes starting prices: Plus from $143 a month and Pro from $288 a month, both billed annually, each with a set-up fee. The page doesn't give the amount of that fee. Enterprise is by quote.

Ask before you buy: Ask for the set-up fee in writing, and whether the kiosk and forms add-ons are in your number.
Track It Forward pricing
We couldn't confirm Track It Forward's price. Its site blocked our check on 16 and 30 October 2026, and we won't repeat a figure from another site. Open its pricing page yourself to see the current numbers.

Bloomerang Volunteer pricing
Bloomerang Volunteer, once InitLive, starts at $119 a month billed annually. Bloomerang calls its pricing constituent-based, so your count moves the number, and it doesn't publish the tiers above the start. Our InitLive guide has the rest of the story. SignUpGenius pricing
SignUpGenius has a free version with ads. Silver is $8.99 a month billed annually or $11.99 monthly, Gold is $22.49 or $29.99, and Platinum is $44.99 or $59.99. Each step clears ads from more sign-ups. Our SignUpGenius alternatives guide goes deeper.

SignUp.com's Basic tier is free. Starter is $99.99 a year, Plus $249.99 and Max $499.99. Ads appear on all of them unless you buy the ad-free upgrade, at $9.99 a month or $99.99 a year.

POINT pricing
POINT's free version covers unlimited volunteers and admins, sign-ups, reminders and time tracking. Pro is $99 a month billed annually, or $140 monthly. Teams, marked beta, is $199 or $299.

GivePulse has a free Basic tier. Give Joy is $20 a month billed annually, Give Together $100 and Give More $170. Its page lists other plans too, including ones for campuses, so make sure you're reading the right one.

VolunteerLocal prices by the year or by the event. Discover is $600 a year or $200 an event, and Grow is $2,400 a year or $800 an event. Hours tracking is a $200 add-on on Discover.

Ask before you buy: Do the math on events: three events a year puts both Discover options at the same price.
VolunteerMatters pricing
Growing is $239 a month or $2,390 a year, plus a $499 setup fee, and starts at 250 volunteers. Professional is $419 a month or $4,190 a year, plus $699 setup.

Timecounts offers a free version to approved organizations, with one admin. Pro is $79 a month billed annually, or $89 monthly. The same page still carries an older $59 and $69 block, so confirm the number when you sign up.

Ember Volunteers pricing
We make Ember Volunteers, so here it is on the same terms. It's free if your budget is under $50K a year, with no credit card. From $50K to $100K it's $29 a month billed yearly, and the pricing page shows every band. Your price follows your budget range, not your volunteer count, and every tier includes every app and unlimited users.
Anyone can sign up from your one link with just a name and an email. Your first 25 public sign-ups need nothing more from you; confirm your EIN to raise the limit. Reminders go by email, not text.
