Where the hours go: a free team time audit

A team time audit shows where everyone's hours go, and this one fits in a 30-minute staff meeting. Each person lists the repeated tasks that fill their week and how long each takes. Together you see the total, and which tasks are worth handing to AI first.

Your list stays in your browser until you send your link to your host. Ember never receives it.

How it works

  1. Each person fills in their own list on their own phone or computer: the task, how often, how long.
  2. They send their list to one host with a link. The link carries their answers; nothing is stored by Ember.
  3. The host sees the team's total and the tasks sorted into where to start, what to set up later and what stays with a person.
  4. Save the result as a PDF. Run it again in three or four weeks and compare.

Doing this on your own? Our nonprofit time audit guide walks you through logging one ordinary week and finding the hours you could get back.

A three-week plan for your champion

Pick one person to own this, and protect two hours a week for them.

  • Week 1. Take the top task under "Start here". One person tries handing it to an AI assistant, and notes how long it took.
  • Week 2. Write down what worked as shared instructions, plus what never goes into an AI tool. Two or three more people try it.
  • Week 3. Decide where the time you got back will go. Pick a second task. Run this exercise again and compare.

Ember Work keeps every task in a project, where it can have an owner and a due date. Nothing lives in one person's head.
